For so long I thought leadership was an action – a conglomeration of the behaviours that come out of me. All the while, my subconscious leader was left latent, untapped, underneath the surface. There was so much more of ME I could be bringing forth into my leadership.
See, we put 95% of our effort on controlling the 5% of our conscious brain activity. We focus on our behaviors – learning how-to’s, best practices, and the lists of things a leader DOES, instead of becoming leaders.
Inevitably, we eventually feel like we’re put into a box which leads to burnout, lost direction and vision – and we become the very micromanagers we always resented.
